Service Engineer Server Operations

Job Description

• Administer Windows Servers in Production, Development, and Test environments, managing both physical and virtual servers (Dell, HP, IBM).
• Perform patch management using SCCM for Windows Servers, ensuring timely installation of patches and resolving boot or patch-related issues.
• Troubleshoot server performance issues such as memory utilization, CPU usage, disk space, service failures, and handle escalation of critical incidents as needed.
• Manage and troubleshoot Active Directory (AD) including user accounts, access management, Group Policies, and domain login issues.
• Participate in server lifecycle management: OS installation, patching, application setup, backup, and security hardening for physical and virtual servers.
• Automate day-to-day tasks using PowerShell scripting, streamlining operations and improving overall efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective resolution of server hardware issues, RDP connection problems, and backup failures.
• Document technical procedures by creating and maintaining technical documentation (Tech Docs and Process Docs) to support team members in daily tasks.
• Work on ITIL-based processes for Incidents, Changes, and Problem Management, ensuring SLA compliance in daily operational tasks.
• Collaborate on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for major incidents, and work with senior team members for long-term problem resolution.

• 1-3 years of experience in Windows Server administration, including troubleshooting server performance and system issues.
• Proficiency in Active Directory management, including user accounts, permissions, and Group Policies.
• Hands-on experience in patch management using SCCM.
• Experience with server hardware troubleshooting and remote management tools like HP iLO, Dell iDRAC, etc.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and Service Management (Incidents, Changes, Problems).
• PowerShell scripting skills to automate routine administrative tasks.
• Basic knowledge of backup systems, RDP troubleshooting, and server security practices.
