In this role, the incumbent will be responsible in shaping the retail operations strategy. Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of assortment and space planning strategies for retail clients to optimize product offerings and store layouts.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with retail clients, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration on project goals and timelines.
- Oversee the design and implementation of store layouts, including planograms, merchandising strategies, and space utilization.
- Provide actionable insights into product assortment to drive increased sales, customer satisfaction, and inventory management.
- Ensure efficient and effective space allocation across retail stores, balancing product availability with optimal display space.
- Collaborate with clients to forecast demand, plan assortments based on trends and consumer behavior, and ensure products align with customer needs.
- Utilize data analytics to refine and improve assortment strategies, leveraging insights to influence business decisions.
- Manage a cross-functional team of space planning and merchandising experts, overseeing project timelines, deliverables, and ensuring smooth execution.
- Lead workshops with key client stakeholders to identify and solve business challenges related to space optimization and product assortment.
- Advise clients on technology solutions for space planning, merchandising, and inventory management to streamline operations and improve productivity.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and supply chain teams to ensure the right products are available in the right quantities at the right time.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills- Bachelor&rsquos Degree (Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field) master&rsquos degree (e.g., MBA in Data Analytics, Retail Management, Business Analytics) preferred.
- Proven experience with planogramming, store layout design, and merchandising strategies.
- Expertise in using retail analytics and data-driven decision-making to optimize assortment and space planning strategies.
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, specifically in assortment planning, space management, and inventory control.
- Familiarity with space planning software and retail management systems (e.g., Relex,SAP, Oracle, JDA, or other similar tools).
- Strong project management skills, including managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with the ability to present complex data and ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Client handling experience, particularly in a retail or merchandising context, with the ability to influence and guide senior stakeholders.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with business units such as sales, supply chain, and marketing.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Experience with customer-centric space planning strategies focused on enhancing the consumer shopping experience.
- In-depth knowledge of retail analytics and KPIs, with a track record of leveraging data to drive business outcomes.
- Experience in managing large-scale retail projects, including end-to-end delivery of assortment and space planning solutions.
- Familiarity with emerging retail technologies and trends impacting space planning, such as AI-driven product recommendations, augmented reality for virtual store layouts, and omni-channel inventory management.
- Experience in the CPGR (Consumer Packaged Goods Retail) business or with large, global retailers.
