Position Summary
As a Supplier Quality Engineer, you will collaborate with the Global Supplier Network to support internal business units in addressing OEM/CM quality issues, developing suppliers, and ensuring external supply chain compliance with quality, service, and cost expectations.
You will act as a liaison between OEMs/CMs, driving continuous improvement across the supplier base. Additionally, you will provide technical support for quality system assessments, performance evaluations, and regulatory compliance while working closely with strategic sourcing, auditing, and development teams.
This role requires strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to guide suppliers in meeting product quality and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Change Management: Own and execute Supplier Initiated Change Requests (SICR), ensuring smooth implementation through effective coordination with stakeholders.
Process Improvement: Support and implement enhancements to Corporate/Site/Division SICR procedures.Quality Assurance: Review SICR submissions, challenge suppliers on missing information, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.
Stakeholder Coordination: Organize Supplier Change Review Boards (SCRB) and obtain buy-in for proposed changes.
Validation & Compliance: Execute ECR/ECNs and oversee validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) to ensure supplier compliance with GMP, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 820.
Supplier Development: Provide guidance on continuous improvement methodologies, review PPAP, MSA, SPC documentation, and assess manufacturing process capabilities (welding, molding, machining, etc.).
Performance Monitoring: Track and maintain SICR Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and support global SICR initiatives.
Communication & Training: Facilitate communication between suppliers, sites, and divisions while ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or Science (or equivalent).- 5 to 6 years of experience in a manufacturing environment or similar role.
Experience with GMP, ISO 13485, and 21 CFR Part 820 standards.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
Hands-on experience with PPAP, MSA, SPC, and validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ).
Understanding of manufacturing processes (welding, molding, machining, etc.).
Proficiency in PFMEA & Control Plan development.
Basic knowledge of statistics and project management.
Experience working with Microsoft Office tools.
Soft Skills:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Willingness to travel to different geographical locations as per business needs.
