Job Description:
Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe System Admin with expertise in SMP/E (System Modification Program/Extended) to join our team in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will have over 7 years of experience in managing and maintaining mainframe environments, with a strong focus on SMP/E, system installation, and maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform system maintenance, including installation and upgrades using SMP/E.

Manage and administer mainframe environments, ensuring high availability and performance.

Collaborate with development and operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.

Perform system tuning, capacity planning, and performance monitoring.

Ensure system security and compliance with corporate policies and standards.

Provide technical support and guidance to junior system administrators and other IT staff.

Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and operations.

Participate in on-call rotations to support critical system operations.
Required Skills and Experience:

7+ years of experience in Mainframe System Administration.

Extensive experience with SMP/E, including installation, configuration, and maintenance of mainframe software.

Strong knowledge of z/OS, JES2/JES3, RACF, VTAM, TCP/IP, and other mainframe components.

Experience in system performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster recovery planning.

Familiarity with mainframe security protocols and best practices.

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience with automation tools and scripting languages is a plus.
Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
