Transaction Advisory Services
Houlihan Lokey's Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice assists private equity and corporate clients with financial, IT and tax due diligence, business analytics and technical accounting matters associated with corporate mergers, divestitures and acquisitions (M&A).Drawing on Houlihan Lokey's market leadership in middle-market M&A transactions, our due diligence experts provide candid, unbiased, and rigorous support on matters most impacting deal value, and assist investors in identifying and evaluating key value drivers and risk factors.
TAS India
Houlihan Lokey set up TAS operations in India in July 2022. TAS India services currently comprise financial due diligence, accounting and financial reporting, and data analytics. It's a rapidly-growing practice and a growth enabler for HLI TAS globally.Our coverage includes working on and leading US and cross-border deals as well as developing opportunities in India and APAC markets.

Job Purpose
TAS India is looking to add talented financial professionals at the Manager level to our fast-growing FDD team. As a professional in the group, you will be teamed with a highly talented and dedicated group of transaction advisory professionals, providing you broad exposure to different transactional issues affecting businesses within the M&A market today.We offer a unique opportunity to work in a variety of industries on an investment banking platform, providing exposure to the broader corporate finance industry and capital markets.
Responsibilities & Deliverables- Lead buy-side and sell-side financial due diligence engagements
- Develop operational insights utilizing data & analytics in order analyze the drivers of profitability and evaluate key risks and opportunities of a company
- Identify and discuss key deal issues with client deal teams, and management teams of target / subject companies; make judgements related to the deal adjustments and other deal issues in discussion with the Engagement Principals
- Draft and review tailored transaction advisory reports specific to key issues such as normalized earnings, achievability of management's budget, operational insights, indebtedness considerations, and post-transaction working capital analysis
- Build sector expertise and qualifications
- Project management including scoping, effort estimate, work planning and staffing, quality review, progress review, guiding and coaching team, and feedback
- Manage team members (Associates and Analysts) on engagements - reviewing their work and coaching them
- People management of 3-5 team members, including goals and KPIs, development roadmap, training and coaching, and performance assessment
- Establishing strong professional relationships with HLI colleagues and clients
- Providing support/assistance for proposals/business development
- Qualifications: CA / MBA / PGDM in Finance or Accounting
- Experience: The candidate must have 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in a similar role in a professional services firm
- Passionate about Deal advisory with a strong aptitude to learn continuously from experience and to seek out development opportunities
- Credible record of operating as an independent contributor with deal management experience, and also leading a team on projects
- Passion for and ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities, including farming out with existing clients as well as approaching new clients, especially in India and regional markets including Middle East, Singapore and Hong Kong.
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of engagement types, working hours and work environments and locations
- Manifest strong project and team leadership, with ability to manage difficult situations, guide and mentor team members, and manage change
- Excellent written / verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Highly motivated with an exceptional work ethic, and a demonstrated ability and desire to work cooperatively with team members and client professionals
- Knowledge of and experiences with data analytics technologies such as Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx, Dataiku will be an added advantage
