Project Background

Global Health Strategies (GHS) collaborates with a leading health organization to enhance its policy and communications initiatives through comprehensive program management and strategic outreach efforts. This includes designing and implementing strategic communications plans, building organizational capacity through tailored training sessions, and fostering impactful stakeholder engagement.
GHS oversees the creation of evidence-based media materials such as press releases and opinion editorials, organizes high-profile events like convenings, press conferences and policy roundtables, and facilitates community mobilization efforts.

By aligning these tools into a comprehensive strategy, GHS ensures the effective dissemination of their initiatives, amplifies organizational impact, and drives informed decision-making across target audiences.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to serve as a Senior Program Manager/Director, with a proven ability to influence the global development agenda through strategic leadership in program management, communications, and partnership building.

This role requires a track record of shaping and executing high-impact campaigns, spearheading information-education-communication (IEC) initiatives, building capacity, and facilitating flagship initiatives and events.

Talent will be responsible for designing and driving comprehensive communications strategies, including the development and oversight of key media collaterals such as press releases, reports, and thought leadership pieces. They will lead the conceptualization and execution of strategic initiatives, roundtables, convening and events, guiding the creation of impactful media and social media content, and provide strategic direction for engaging stakeholders and amplifying reach through innovative communication approaches.

This role demands a visionary leader who can craft and implement strategies that advance organizational priorities while aligning with broader global health and development objectives. The consultant may also support similar high-level initiatives across other priority projects as required.

Required Qualifications
  • A Bachelor Degree, preferably in social science, public health, marketing, or other related fields, with at least 8 to 10 of progressively relevant professional experience.
  • Master's degree in research/development/public policy/ business or development management will be an asset.
  • Experience in program management, consulting, problem-solving, managing teams, creating knowledge products, ecosystem engagement, and policy. Preferable experience working with senior government officials.
  • Master's degree is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, writing, and editing skills with a demonstrated ability to write for media and social media.
  • Passion for health communication and advocacy and a commitment to our clients mission and goals in the health-related industry.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency: Advanced Word and PowerPoint skills, Intermediate Excel skills

  • Attention to detail, with a keen eye for formatting and grammar.
  • Interest in learning new skills at a fast pace
  • Ability to work within short timelines.
