Key responsibilities- Performing surgical procedures on patients to treat injuries, diseases, and deformities.
- Evaluating patients medical histories and diagnosing their conditions to determine appropriate surgical procedures.
- Collaborating with other medical professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Providing pre- and post-operative care to patients.
- Utilizing a variety of specialized surgical instruments and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate and updated patient records.
- Participating in ongoing education and training to stay current on surgical techniques and medical advancements.
- Adhering to established medical and ethical standards, as well as safety protocols, in all surgical procedures.
- Communicating effectively with patients and their families, providing information and reassurance throughout the surgical process.
- Participating in departmental and hospital-wide initiatives to improve surgical care and outcomes.
- Conducting research and publishing findings in medical journals, contributing to the advancement of surgical knowledge and practices.
- Participating in on-call duties to respond to emergency surgical cases.
- Mentoring and supervising medical students, residents, and other healthcare professionals.
- Participating in quality improvement activities to enhance patient safety and clinical outcomes.
- Master Of Surgeon degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a surgical residency program, with certification by the American Board of Surgery or equivalent.
- Licensure to practice as a surgeon in the relevant state or region.
- Proven experience and expertise in performing a wide range of surgical procedures, including minimally invasive techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of surgical principles, practices, and techniques, with a commitment to staying current with advancements in the field.
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical environments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with empathy and compassion for patients and their families.
