IT Administrator, Enterprise Infrastucture
Overview:
The Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting all hardware and software systems along with other members of the IT staff. This person will also provide technical guidance to IT and non-IT staff to ensure that all infrastructure systems meet the company's current and future needs.This position reports to the Service Line Manager of Enterprise Infrastructure
Responsibilities:
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.- Support all systems that comprise the PowerSchool infrastructure including networking and server equipment, monitoring tools, and supporting environments
- Support and configuration of virtualized environments to ensure high availability
- Monitor and troubleshoot system and network issues to ensure performance and system responsiveness
- Assisting in configuring network and/or third-party hardware/software application programs to provide improved response time, quality, or cost effectiveness
- Maintain system health on all managed infrastructure hardware
- Collaborate with business units and other IT staff to support, design and provide systems that meet the needs of our growing business
- Create and maintain infrastructure diagrams, runbooks, and supporting documentation
- Provide server, Operating System, middleware maintenance and support
- Keep IT plans updated (DR, change/access control)
- DR testing as required
- Serves as a mentor for other IT staff
- Any other tasks as assigned by management
Qualifications:
To be considered for and to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the skill and/or ability required.
Qualifications include:- Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science or related field preferred
5 years of VMware implementation and administration experience
5 years’ hands-on implementation and support experience with:
o Windows and Linux Server versions including: 2016, 2019, and/or 2022o Windows Server versions including: 2016, 2019, and/or 2022
o Linux Server versions including Ubuntu and CentOSo Virtualization (VMWare/Hyper-V) including monitoring and performance tuning
o Network and systems monitoring (Cisco Meraki, Netbox, Patch Management, SolarWinds, etc)
o Storage technologies, including NAS and SAN in addition to various snapshot technologies
o Various scripting tools such as PowerShell and others.
- Networking and network products knowledge (switches, routers, firewalls) to assist with the Network Team
- Experience deploying and managing IT ITIL and security technologies
- Strong customer facing skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications
- Microsoft, Cisco Meraki and VMWare certifications a plus
