Design Engineer (develop and optimize conveyor systems and components) - Pune

Job Description

This role requires collaboration with the production and sales teams to deliver high-quality designs that meet customer specifications and industry standards.

Details:

1. Design and Development

• Develop detailed designs for conveyor systems and components (e.g., rollers, slats, belts).
• Create 2D and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client specifications.

1. Prototyping and Testing

• Collaborate with the production team to develop prototypes for new designs.
• Conduct tests to validate the performance and durability of the designs.
• Modify and improve designs based on test results and feedback.

1. Documentation and Technical Support

• Prepare and maintain detailed technical drawings, specifications, and manuals.
• Provide technical support to the production and sales teams during manufacturing and client discussions.
• Assist in the preparation of BOMs (Bill of Materials) for production.

1. Continuous Improvement

• Analyze existing products and suggest improvements for cost reduction, efficiency, and reliability.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in conveyor systems and material handling equipment.

1. Client Interaction

• Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and propose suitable design solutions.
• Present designs and modifications to clients for approval.

• Educational Background
• Bachelor's degree/ Dipomain Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field.

• 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in conveyor systems or material handling equipment.
• Proven expertise in using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.).

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, material properties, and manufacturing processes.
• Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis) tools for stress and load testing is a plus.
• Understanding of safety standards and compliance requirements for industrial equipment.

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Time management and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
