Business & Team:
The Identity and Access Technology (IAT) Teams are an integral part of the wider Group Security practice. IAT consists of 3 Crews focused on Identity Lifecycle Management, Workforce Authentication and Privileged Access Management. These Crews are supported by 3 enabling teams, focused on Identity Adoption, Oversight and Access Design.Together they deliver a range of critical services to the organisation ensuring our staff and partners have the right access, to the right systems, at the right times.
The Identity Access Design team is tasked with defining how access should be structured, requested, presented, and ultimately managed across our strategic Identity platforms. Role management lifecycle (creation, modification, decommission) and policy maintenance (i.e., development, validation and enforcement specifically related to Segregation of Duties) are the primary focus areas, driven by deep data insights that will allow for proactive engagement across applicable Business Units and Technology Teams.

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Engineer with expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI) to join our Security Engineering practice, driving security outcomes throughout the lifecycle of our products and services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing secure AI-powered solutions, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and driving innovation in security engineering practices that leverage AI and machine learning (ML) technologies.
Roles & Responsibilities:
As a Staff Security Engineer - AI/ML Expert, you will be accountable for:
- Designing and implementing secure AI/ML solutions that align with Group Security policies, standards, and reference architecture
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive security outcomes throughout the design, build, and run phases of product development, including AI/ML model assessment and security.
- Supporting the adoption of modern scalable and high-velocity security practices, including Secure By Design, DevSecOps, and Automation, with a focus on AI/ML security
- Contributing to the continuous innovation and re-engineering of existing security engineering practices, including the development of practice strategies, patterns, and processes for AI/ML security
- Staying up-to-date with the evolving technology landscape, including AI/ML frameworks, libraries, and tools, and providing expert guidance on security engineering best practices
- Supporting the response to high-profile security incidents, technology strategy and selection, and automation of security services, with a focus on AI/ML security
- Collaborating with data scientists and AI/ML engineers to ensure secure data processing and model development
- Developing and maintaining security controls for AI/ML systems, including data encryption, access controls, and anomaly detection
- Providing expert guidance on AI/ML security risks and mitigation strategies
Essential Skills:
- 12+ years of experience in security engineering, with a focus on design and implementation of secure solutions, including AI/ML security
- Strong understanding of security policies, standards, and reference architecture, including AI/ML security frameworks and guidelines
- Experience with AI/ML frameworks, libraries, and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras
- Experience with Secure by Design, DevSecOps, and Automation practices, with a focus on AI/ML security
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including data scientists and AI/ML engineers
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex security issues and develop effective solutions, including AI/ML security risks and mitigation strategies
- Continuous learning mindset, with a passion for staying up to date with the latest AI/ML security trends and technologies
- Familiarity with Australian financial industry regulations and standards, such as the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA) and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC)
- Good to have Experience with cloud-based AI/ML platforms, such as Azure OpenAI, AWS SageMaker or Google Cloud AI Platform
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with security testing and vulnerability assessment tools, such as OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, such as PCI-DSS or HIPAA
Education Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree or master's degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology
