Job Overview

The Design Manager will work closely with engineering, production, and sales teams to deliver innovative solutions for transformer products.

• Oversee a team of design engineers and drafters, providing guidance and mentoring to ensure high performance, creativity, and technical excellence in transformer designs.
• Lead the development and refinement of electrical and mechanical designs for transformers, including power transformers, distribution transformers, and specialized products.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, production, and quality control teams to ensure that designs are manufacturable, cost-effective, and meet performance specifications.
• Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Interface with customers to understand their requirements, provide design solutions, and support product modifications.
• Ensure that all designs adhere to industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines, including IEC, ANSI, IEEE, and local regulations.
• Identify opportunities for design improvements and cost reduction while maintaining product quality and performance.
• Maintain accurate and detailed design documentation, including CAD drawings, technical specifications, and design change orders.
• Drive innovative design practices and incorporate emerging technologies to enhance transformer performance, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Provide training to junior engineers and design staff on new tools, design methodologies, and industry trends.

• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A specialization in power systems or transformer design is preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in transformer design, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Technical Expertise: Proficiency in transformer design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar) and knowledge of electrical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of transformer design standards, industry trends, and best practices.
• Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage a team of engineers and designers effectively.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to find creative solutions to complex design challenges.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal teams and external clients.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
• Project Management: Experience managing design projects, ensuring timelines are met, and quality standards are upheld.
