Job Description
Under The Mango Tree Society (UTMTS) is an award-winning not-for-profit organisation that offers beekeeping with indigenous bees to small farmers for enhancing their agriculture through improved pollination.Since pollination is key to any type of fruit production, presence of beeboxes in a smallholders farm, improves the crop yield significantly.The vision of the organisation is to provide beekeeping as an agriculture input to small and marginal farmers to increase their yields and income; create livelihood opportunities along the beekeeping value chain; and protect and enhance the local population of indigenous honey bees by increasing awareness of their role in the preservation of the ecosystem and encouraging bee-friendly agriculture practices.
The programme began as a pilot in 2009 and is now recognized internationally as an innovative development initiative. The organisation works in the states of Maharashtra, Gujarat and M.P.

Role & Responsibilities:
- Helping the team in planning and conducting baseline and endline surveys, followed by data-cleaning, data analysis and report writing.
- Compiling and analyzing the MIS data that comes from the state teams.
- Ensuring regular collection of key agricultural data, and analysis of the same.
- Helping the team in developing questionnaires and formats.
- Participating in the development of technology for better monitoring and evaluation of the programme.
- Developing M&E related presentations showcasing impact of the programme.
- Recording and/ or editing case studies.
- Researching on topics related to bees and pollination.
Educational Qualifications:
Post graduate degree preferably in the development field, Social Sciences, Data Science, Statistics, Agriculture or any related area. Someone with an agricultural background will be given preference.
Preferred Previous Experience:
1 to 2 years of work experience in the development sector handling monitoring and evaluation, research, report writing and data analysis. Someone with experience in dealing with agriculture data and conducting surveys will be given preference.Freshers with required functional skills can also apply.
Functional Skills:
- Proficiency in Intermediate or Advanced level of MS Excel.
- Basic proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint.
- Good analytical skills with an eye to detail.
- Good presentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to read, write and speak English and Hindi is a must; working knowledge of Marathi or Gujarati will be useful.
- Following additional skills will be desirable, but not compulsory:
- Working knowledge and exposure to development of data input forms on systems like ODK/ SurveyCTO / DimaGi / GoSurvey etc.
- Knowledge of data visualisation tools such as PowerBI / Tableau etc.
Other Key Requirements:
- Should be willing to travel to the field at least for 10 days a month.
- Should be a team-player and a keen learner.
