In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the strategy, development, and execution of category management efforts for our clients. This role demands a highly strategic, results-driven individual who can lead cross-functional teams, build strong supplier relationships, and ensure category performance aligns with overall business objectives.The incumbent will play a critical role in driving cost optimization, supplier innovation, and category performance. The position requires expertise in procurement, market analysis, and leadership to ensure the best strategies and outcomes for clients.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of category management strategies across multiple categories, ensuring alignment with customer preference.
- Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, best practices, and opportunities for cost savings and supplier optimization.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies and category roadmaps that meet organizational goals and drive continuous improvements in category performance.
- Partner with senior executives, including procurement, finance, and operations teams, to integrate category strategies into broader business objectives.
- Oversee supplier relationship management, including negotiations, performance monitoring, and contract management to ensure optimal terms and long-term value.
- Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, focusing on maximizing value from category investments and optimizing resource utilization.
- Lead the creation of performance dashboards, ensuring accurate reporting of category performance, cost savings, and supplier KPIs.
- Monitor market trends, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to inform category strategies and uncover new opportunities for innovation.
- Implement sustainable procurement practices and ensure compliance with environmental, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications / Skills- A bachelor&rsquos degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Retail Management, or a related field isrequired. Advanced degrees like anMBAwillbe preferred.
- Relevant years of progressive experience in category management, procurement, or supply chain roles, with relevant years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in managing large, complex categories and supplier relationships in a global capability center environment.
- Strong experience in sourcing, supplier negotiations, cost optimization, and strategic procurement.
- Expertise in data analysis, market trends, and supplier performance management to drive business decisions.
- In-depth knowledge of category management processes, procurement strategies, and performance metrics.
- Ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, influencing and motivating stakeholders across departments.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a focus on data-driven insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly to senior management and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in procurement software, data analysis tools, and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms, used for managing business processes across procurement, inventory, and financial operations.
- Strong experience with advanced data analysis and reporting tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms for identifying trends and making data-driven decisions.
- Expertise in advanced Excel functions for data analysis, modeling, and reporting, enabling effective insights and decision support.
- In-depth knowledge of merchandising software for assortment planning, product lifecycle management, and optimizing inventory performance.
- Familiarity with CRM systems to understand customer behavior, preferences, and feedback, influencing strategic category and assortment decisions.
- High level of strategic thinking, with the ability to make informed decisions in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Strong understanding of market trends, cost structures, and supply chain dynamics.
- Ability to drive innovation and market insights to enhance category performance.
