Position Summary

As the Intercompany Head at NIQ, you will oversee the management and governance of the Intercompany process within Global Finance Operations. Your focus will be on ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and consistency of Intercompany accounting and reporting across various systems and processes.

This role demands strong leadership abilities, meticulous attention to detail, data mining capabilities and a capacity to drive significant process improvements and standardization across the organization.

The candidate will work closely with various teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely completion of intercompany activities, including coordination of intercompany transfer pricing documentation.

Key Responsibilities -
  1. Oversight of Intercompany Transactions:
  • Ensure all intercompany transactions (e.g., sales, purchases, loans, and services) are accurately recorded and processed in a timely manner.
  • Supervise the generation and distribution of intercompany invoices across multiple entities and regions.
  1. Reconciliation and Out-of-Balance Resolution:
  • Review and reconcile intercompany balances on a regular basis to ensure accounts are aligned across entities.
  • Investigate and resolve intercompany out-of-balance situations to ensure proper reconciliation and reporting.
  1. Netting and Settling of Intercompany Transactions:
  • Manage the netting and settlement process for intercompany transactions, ensuring timely and accurate payments between entities.
  • Monitor and resolve any issues related to non-netting intercompany transactions, coordinating with internal departments as needed.
  1. Coordination of Intercompany App Development Transfers:
  • Oversee the intercompany app development cost transfers between different business units, ensuring costs are appropriately allocated.
  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to streamline and document these transfers effectively.
  1. Management of Intercompany Allocations:
  • Ensure accurate posting of intercompany allocations, including hub allocations at the regional, cluster, and country levels.
  • Coordinate central hub allocations and country-level recharges, ensuring compliance with allocation rules and policies.
  1. Intercompany Loans and Advances:
  • Oversee the accounting and processing of intercompany loans and advances, ensuring accurate tracking and documentation.
  • Monitor loan agreements and compliance with financial policies and guidelines.
  1. Intercompany Transfer Pricing:
  • Collaborate with tax and legal teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance with global transfer pricing regulations.
  • Coordinate and maintain accurate transfer pricing documentation and ensure timely completion of all necessary filings.
  1. Process Standardization and Improvement:
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across intercompany accounting processes, aiming to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Standardize processes across regions, ensuring consistency in handling intercompany transactions.
  1. Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner with various departments (e.g., FP&A, treasury, tax, audit) to ensure smooth intercompany operations and address complex issues.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for both internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to intercompany transactions.
  1. Compliance and Internal Controls:
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards (e.g., US GAAP, IFRS), and regulatory requirements related to intercompany transactions.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of reports required for statutory, tax, and regulatory compliance.
  1. Leadership and Team Management:
  • Lead and mentor a team of intercompany accountants, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment focused on achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
  1. Intercompany Audit Support:
  • Support internal and external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations related to intercompany transactions and processes.
  • Work with audit teams to address findings and implement recommended improvements.
  1. Project Leadership:
  • Lead projects related to Intercompany process and migrations ensuring a smooth transition and minimal disruption to financial processes.
  • Provide support for Corporate and global projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CA preferred (CA Inter mandatory)
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting, with at least 5 years focusing on intercompany transactions.
  • Strong understanding of intercompany accounting, transfer pricing, and related global tax compliance issues.
  • Experience with multinational organizations and familiarity with complex intercompany structures.
  • Proficient in SAP ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS, with demonstrated experience in managing intercompany allocations and reconciliations.
  • Proven track record of process improvement and automation in intercompany functions.
