Join our rapidly growing Kantar Automation Platform development team as a Lead QA Engineer. We are a large Agile team with multiple squads dedicated to delivering outstanding results every sprint to support the platform's growth. The LeadQA Engineer role is crucial in maintaining our quality standards and actively contributing to our teams success by encouraging a culture of continuous testing and delivery.Your expertise will play a vital role in shaping our development process and ensuring the excellence we aim for.
Role Overview
We are hiring a QA Lead that will put in place initiatives to refine and optimize our QA procedures, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to implement standard processes. Your expertise will serve as the cornerstone for designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies, ensuring that each feature and aspect of the Kantar Automation Platform meets and exceeds user expectations.
The selected candidate will play a vital role in the early stages of the development lifecycle, identifying potential risks and bottlenecks and proposing innovative solutions!
Key Responsibilities- UI and/or Backend Test Automation execution.
- Add new tests and expand the automation test suite.
- Crafting automation testing artifacts including test estimates, test execution reports, etc.
- Execution and monitoring of test automation scripts.
- Perform regression testing to verify new features.
- Analysis and troubleshooting of automation script failures.
- Improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
- Ensure framework completes daily tasks in a CI environment.
- Foster transparent communication within the team.
Key Capabilities
This role will suit someone who is a Technical QA Lead with experience defining test strategies and developing teams of at least 5 testers. Someone that would like to evolve to the next level in their testing career including automation and performance testing will also find this opportunity exciting!
You will be deeply involved in the definition of the UI and backend automation work, so having experience in this area is crucial for the role. In addition to this, the QA Lead will be accountable for planning and supervising the work of the manual integration testers in the squads.
Skills & Experience
Essential experience- +10 years experience in testing including automation hands-on for UI and/or backend and working as a QA and Testing Lead.
- Hands on experience of planning, coordinating, and performing testing activities along the complete development life cycle in an agile environment.
- Experience defining automation test strategy and framework.
- Reporting testing status and assessing high risk situations that could compromise delivery deadlines and quality.
- Experience mentoring developers and testers in QA practices.
- Nice to have: Bs in Computer Science or any IT degree and ISTQB Certification.
- Shown experience testing Applications, microservice architectures, API services, and databases.
- Broad knowledge of Testing technologies and latest practices in the field.
- Experience with different automation tooling like Selenium, Cypress, Specflow or any tool used for service automation.
- Understanding concepts of Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration, git, branching strategies and DevOps.
- A leader who can communicate well across all levels within the organization.
- Fluency in English.
- Some experience with coding in languages like C#, .Net, or Java technologies.
- Background using Playwright, Cypress, or SpecFlow is ideal.
- Solid knowledge in previous roles of the testing of applications, microservice architectures, API services, and databases.
- Knowledge of testing technologies and latest practices in the field.
- Familiarity and understanding of testing concepts and different testing techniques.
- Understanding of concepts of Continuous Testing, Continuous Integration, git, branching strategies, and equivalent experience in DevOps.
- Excellent communication in English, both verbal and written.
- Experience with Performance and Load testing using JMeter or Lighthouse
- Knowledge of other UI automation frameworks like Playwright and Cypress.
- Great interpersonal and communication skills to be part of a team that is spread over multiple locations.
- Quick learner and able to readily adapt to project needs.
- Excellent experience in interpreting testing requirements.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to handle conflict, difficult situations, and to influence others to your opinions.
- Must have a positive can-do attitude.
- Must be able to accept and give constructive feedback.
- Happy to get hands dirty when problems arise.
- Able to work with limited supervision.
- BS in Computer Science or any IT degree [nice to have], or equivalent experience.
- ISTQB Certified [nice to have].
