Job Description
Purpose of the Role:
The Head Business Development and Projects will be responsible for identifying and executing strategic business expansion opportunities. This includes scouting and finalizing new locations, managing property acquisition processes, coordinating with project teams for store fit-outs, and ensuring regulatory compliance.The role demands a strong blend of real estate expertise, legal knowledge, stakeholder management, and business development acumen to drive growth and strengthen the organization's market presence.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Expansion & Site Acquisition- Conduct market research and feasibility studies to identify new locations and potential areas for business expansion.
- Analyze demographic, economic, and competitive factors to select the best sites aligned with the organization's growth strategy.
- Oversee the end-to-end property acquisition process, including negotiation, documentation, and legal due diligence.
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and zoning requirements for new sites.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of real estate agents, landlords, and property consultants to facilitate site selection.
- Collaborate with the project and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of store fit-outs and timely openings.
- Monitor the progress of new store projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Address and resolve any challenges related to construction, permits, or vendor management.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government authorities and regulatory bodies to facilitate licensing and approvals.
- Ensure timely procurement of all required permits and legal documentation for store openings.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes affecting property acquisition and business expansion.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through partnerships, collaborations, and strategic alliances.
- Explore innovative market expansion strategies to increase the company's footprint.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with potential clients, investors, and industry leaders.
- Attend industry conferences, networking events, and meetings to stay updated on market trends.
- Drive initiatives to enhance the value of existing locations while expanding into new markets.
- Oversee the development of marketing strategies to promote new store openings and expansion plans.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to execute brand awareness campaigns in new locations.
- Research competitors and market trends to refine business development strategies.
- Lead and mentor the business development team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Set targets, track performance, and drive the achievement of business growth objectives.
- Provide training and development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Real Estate, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in business development, real estate, or retail expansion, with a proven track record of successful market growth.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong legal and regulatory knowledge of property acquisition and leasing.
Expertise in site selection, feasibility analysis, and negotiations.
Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Strategic thinker with a results-driven approach.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
