Team and Position Summary:
F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense team comprises of security and web experts, pioneers, evangelists, and elite researchers. The Bot SaaS Systems team is responsible for building self-service capabilities and SaaSify F5 Distributed Cloud Bot Defense. This involves designing, building, operationalizing, automating, testing and maintaining various systems. These systems support multi-tenancy, telemetry and billing, policy management, and other capabilities inherent to Bot Defense solution.This will enable customers to secure Apps and APIs everywhere. Bot Defense protects 4+ billion transactions per week from imitation
attacks, so you can imagine the scale at which we operate.
As a principal software engineer, you will work on projects critical to our needs with opportunities to create innovative cloud-native solutions. You will be the person leading the design of complex system, develop technical integration strategies, ensure product design fits into the technical architecture.The result of your work can be seen on hundreds of millions of devices worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Serves as technical expert for multiple systems
- Leads analysis of requirements and defines the design for new and modification of existing tools, utilities, environments, systems.
- Plan and implement the design specifications for the engineering project.
- Assists Architects and Managers with project scope and estimating
- Sets the direction and assists with the technical workflow of other engineers.
- Liaises with cross-functional teams to ensure that project is delivered in its entirety.
- Act as a mentor for junior members of the team
- Participates on cross functional design teams to develop expertise in other modules/systems
- Engages with Product Management to drive detailed product requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 8 years of experience in relevant technologies.
- Ability to lead high-level discussions on technology strategy and approach.
- Experience with general purpose programming languages such as Java, Python, Go etc.
- Experience with distributed systems and architecture, and systems integration.
- You have a strong bias for code quality and hygiene and are a team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Google Cloud Platform or Amazon Web Services.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production use cases and running applications at scale in Kubernetes.
- Experience with any graph technologies like Neo4J and Cypher is a plus.
