Job description/Specification for Sr Advanced Project Engineer (IA-HSS)

ESSENTIAL PM SKILLS:

• Working knowledge of NPI Development Process is preferred
• Ability to set judicious expectations and manage them with key stakeholders
• Ability to understand whole system/business perspective, identify and early escalation of risks at the right time
• Ability to quickly assess unclear, complex, and ambiguous situations and reduce into distinct, clear, timely, and stable direction for the development team.
• Good knowledge on basic PM areas like Cost, Time, Risk and vendor management
• Knowledge on EAC and Earned Value Metrics
• Experience in usage of Microsoft project/any other scheduling tools would be added advantage
• Experience with Agile methodology would be added advantage

• Ability to make data based judicious commitments
• Ability to forecast issues and have the courage to escalate to the appropriate level till an adequate resolution is achieved
• Ability to say NO when required
• Good problem solving, Influencing, Negotiate skills and good interpersonal relationship skills
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with internal and external customers
• Ability to work with cross- functional teams and globally distributed development teams
• Exercise clear and concise verbal and written communication skills in different operating environments
• Skillful in handling tough situations with both internal and external groups
• Fast learning curve to absorb the domain knowledge/ PM skill areas
• Knowledge of portfolio management tools like Accolade would be added advantage

• Meticulous planning, executing to the plan by rigorous tracking to meet all key milestone dates
• Learn and able to report project and business metrics (Earned value management metrics (CPI, SPI, EV).
• Effective management of all stakeholders
• Provide accurate and timely project status information, milestones and metrics to key stakeholders
• Ensure programs/projects/tasks are delivered on time and that they meet financial, performance, quality and reliability goals
• Manage communications within team to meet program objectives
• Collaborate with cross-functional/global teams effectively to meet program objective

QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelors / Masters Degree in Engineering
• PMP/SAFe Certified would be an added advantage Or willingness to complete the certification with 1-2 yrs

EXPERIENCE:

• 10-12 Yrs experience in New Product Development experience and at least 3-5 years leading projects/ leading design ownership (preferably experienced in HW projects).
• Experience on Sensor development would be added advantage (Electrification/battery management, Medical and Transportation)
• Lean Six Sigma process experience would be an added advantage
