About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer, Backend to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping our backend systems and team culture. In this role, you will lead by example, providing technical direction, mentorship, and strategic vision to a talented group of developers.
Your primary focus will be on delivering scalable, secure, and high-quality backend solutions using technologies like C#, .NET, Cosmos DB, and Azure. As a cross-functional leader, you'll collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with user and business needs.

You'll champion best practices in software development, DevSecOps, and agile methodologies, all while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership
  • Lead a high-performance team, setting clear technical direction and priorities
  • Guide the design and implementation of backend systems using C#, .NET, CosmosDB, and Azure
  • Actively participate in coding and debugging, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions
  • Oversee the operational health of backend systems, proactively addressing performance, scalability, and security challenges
  • Champion DevSecOps best practices, ensuring robust CI/CD pipelines, automation, and observability are embedded in the development process
Management & Mentorship
  • Manage, mentor, and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment
  • Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews to support career development
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve team productivity and developer experience
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and effective communication
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Product Managers and Designers to deliver solutions aligned with user and business needs
  • Lead agile ceremonies, facilitating team discussions and ensuring progress toward team goals
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in software development and team operations
Minimum Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in backend software development, including leadership responsibilities
  • Expert-level skills in C# and .NET, with a solid foundation in cloud-based development (Azure preferred)
  • Strong experience with API design, microservices, and serverless architecture
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and lead engineers, driving both technical excellence and team growth
  • Proven track record of solving complex technical challenges in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases (CosmosDB preferred).
  • Microsoft certifications in Azure Development or Architecture.
  • Experience defining and embedding coding standards and best practices.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical details for diverse audiences
