Inviting applications for the role of Senior Manager-Architect - Software Development -Reporting Architect
Responsibilities:
- Architect and Design Reporting Solutions: Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of the Power BI and overall reporting landscape, tailored specifically for the insurance industry, ensuring scalability, compliance, and performance.
- Insurance Domain Expertise: Apply in-depth knowledge of insurance processes&mdashincluding underwriting, claims, premium analysis, and policy management&mdashto design reporting solutions that address industry-specific challenges.
- Analyze Business Requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders from underwriting, claims, and finance teams to gather complex business requirements and translate them into advanced reporting and analytics solutions.
- Microsoft Technology Stack Expertise: Act as a subject matter expert in Microsoft Power BI, advanced analytics, and experience in information management technology.
- Data Modeling & Transformation: Design robust data models and perform data transformations using Power BI Query Editor, tailored to handle underwriting performance, claims ratios, loss runs, premium trends, and risk insights.
- Advanced DAX Calculations: Develop advanced DAX calculations to create actionable insights for underwriting effectiveness, claims turnaround times, premium-to-loss ratios, and other KPIs.
- Visualization Best Practices: Build intuitive, insurance-specific dashboards and reports, including:
- Underwriting performance metrics
- Claims cost analysis and fraud detection
- Premium trend analysis and projections
- Loss ratios and profitability metrics
- Risk exposure summaries
- Data Integration & Profiling: Develop technical solutions for data preparation, profiling, and integration using insurance-specific data sources, such as policy administration systems, claims management systems, and financial platforms.
- Data Gateway and Refresh Solutions: Configure and manage data gateways to enable automated, secure, and accurate data refresh processes for insurance reporting.
- Row-Level Security: Implement and manage row-level security and application security models to maintain data governance, privacy, and compliance with insurance regulations.
- SQL Proficiency: Leverage advanced SQL querying to optimize data retrieval and transformations, with a focus on underwriting, claims, and premium-related data.
- Troubleshooting & Validation: Diagnose and resolve issues related to data visualization, data integrity, and performance, while conducting rigorous validation and documentation for underwriting, claims, and premium data.
- Mockup/Storyboard Design: Create prototypes, mockups, and storyboards using UI/UX concepts to align with the unique needs of underwriting and claims management teams.
- Regulatory Reporting Expertise: Design solutions for regulatory compliance reporting in insurance, including Solvency II, IFRS 17, and risk management dashboards.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with underwriting, claims, and finance teams, along with data engineers and developers, to ensure seamless integration of reporting solutions into insurance workflows.
- Agile Project Management: Drive insurance reporting projects using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies, ensuring timely delivery and continuous improvement.
Qualifications We Seek in You!
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor%27s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MCA, MBA, or a related field.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing reporting architectures with analytics and visualization technologies.
- Strong expertise in insurance-specific processes, including underwriting, claims management, and premium analysis.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technical teams and business stakeholders across underwriting, claims, and finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with a focus on innovation and delivering value to insurance clients.
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-changing environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with modern databases and cloud-based data solutions (e.g., Snowflake, SQL Azure).
- Familiarity with regulatory reporting requirements for the insurance industry, such as Solvency II or IFRS 17.
- Experience working in an Agile environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Self-motivated with a passion for learning and adapting to new technologies.
