Role Overview:
Protein World is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee the financial management of our UK operations from our Gurgaon office. The ideal candidate will be a Chartered Accountant (CA) with extensive experience in preparing financial statements, managing P&L accounts, and ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards.This role is critical for maintaining the financial health of our UK companies while collaborating closely with teams in both India and the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management:
Manage and prepare monthly financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for UK companies.
Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and regulations.
Oversee the monthly financial closing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Handle UK payroll, VAT, and tax filings in line with UK regulations.
Monitor financial performance, identify variances, and provide actionable insights to senior management.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Develop, manage, and track budgets for UK operations.
Prepare and present financial forecasts to support strategic decision-making.
Assist in creating financial models and business plans for growth initiatives.
Audit and Compliance:
Manage internal and external audits for UK operations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Maintain detailed and accurate financial records to meet audit and legal standards.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with teams in India and the UK to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.
Liaise with UK-based accountants, auditors, and legal advisors as needed.
Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support management decisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
Experience:
At least 5+ years of experience in financial management or a similar role.
Hands-on experience with UK accounting standards and tax regulations.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and advanced Excel.
Knowledge of UK VAT, payroll, and tax compliance.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to interpret and analyze financial data to provide strategic recommendations.Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work with cross-border teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working with multinational companies or managing financial operations across different geographies.
Familiarity with Indian accounting practices for collaboration with local teams.
Knowledge of financial reporting tools such as SAP or Oracle is an advantage.
