ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Country Data Protection Officer to join SITA’s Global Privacy Office. Perhaps you’re already working as an IT auditor or a monitoring specialist keen to move into privacy, or a budding privacy professional looking to start the next chapter of your career.Either way you’ll be looking for somewhere challenging and exciting to work and as part of a dynamic and growing international team.
The SITA Country Data Protection Officer will support the Director of GEO Privacy to ensure local privacy compliance through second line monitoring reviews and analysis of data processing activities to deliver a view of privacy risk as it applies to country corporate and commercial activities.
The successful candidate will have a strong sense of professional curiosity and an interest in the application of internal controls, regulations and best practice as they apply to privacy across the enterprise.Working with colleagues in Legal, IT, Security and across the wider SITA organisation, the Country Data Protection Officer will also horizon scan for new privacy laws and regulations, identifying the actions necessary for future state compliance and support relevant mergers and acquisition activities.
As part of the Global Privacy Office, the Country Data Protection Officer will help to embed and maintain privacy compliance across SITA as well as having the opportunity to contribute their own thoughts and ideas to the broader development of the Global Privacy Office function.
WHAT YOU’LL DO- Represent the Global Privacy Office in day-to-day activities within country to drive pragmatic privacy risk management, policy compliance, education and awareness;
- Enhance and maintain understanding of country data processing activities as they apply to SITA systems, technologies, customer and vendors;
- Execute privacy risk assessments and support monitoring reviews, documenting evidence and ensuring that there are robust audit trails;
- Provide timely reporting of privacy risks to both the Director of GEO Privacy and the Privacy Risk & Monitoring Manager whilst proactively identifying and facilitating mitigations to reduce known risks;
- Horizon scan for privacy developments, such as new country laws or regulatory guidance and provide analysis and recommendations to the Director of GEO Privacy;
- Design, support and deliver privacy training and awareness in country;
- At the direction of the SITA Director of GEO Privacy, act as the front door for country privacy regulatory/ customer enquiries and complaints;
- Represent SITA externally in country at privacy events, conferences, client facing engagement, and industry forums
- Minimum of 4 Years + demonstrable experience working at country level within a multinational environment as a privacy officer or in a comparable data compliance role.
- Robust knowledge of privacy risk and how it applies in a corporate and commercial environment within an enterprise data compliance framework.
- Good understanding of applicable local data laws, standards and associated compliance requirements.
Qualifications:
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS- Strong analytical skills with the ability to convey complex technical privacy matters in simple terms to key stakeholders;
- Comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities to deadlines whilst collaborating with multiple stakeholders and teams;
- Embraces a ‘hands on’ attitude to problem solving and takes pride in owning deliverables as part of a high performing team;
- Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrable understanding and experience of OneTrust or equivalent compliance platform; and
- Strong team player with a positive attitude, sense of humour and a desire to learn.
- Recognised privacy and or IT audit qualification preferred e.g. IAPP, CRISC and/ or CISA.
- OneTrust accreditations desirable.
