Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and results-driven Quality Control Manager for our CRGO steel plant. This position is responsible for overseeing and managing all quality control activities within the plant, ensuring that the CRGO steel products meet stringent industry standards and customer requirements.The QC Manager will lead a team of quality engineers and technicians to drive continuous improvements in product quality, production processes, and compliance with internal and external quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Quality Control Team: Manage, guide, and mentor a team of QC engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of quality excellence.
- Develop & Implement QC Strategies: Establish, implement, and continually improve quality control procedures, methodologies, and testing protocols for CRGO steel production.
- Monitor Product Quality: Oversee the inspection and testing of CRGO products, ensuring that they meet customer specifications, regulatory standards, and internal quality benchmarks.
- Ensure Compliance: Ensure all CRGO steel products meet industry standards, such as IS, ASTM, IEC, and customer-specific requirements. Oversee compliance with relevant quality certifications (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Quality Documentation: Ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date quality records, including inspection reports, non-conformance logs, corrective actions, and test results.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA): Lead investigations into quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions to minimize defects and rework.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) within the plant to reduce variability, improve quality, and enhance production efficiency.
- Process Optimization: Collaborate with the production and engineering teams to identify areas for process optimization to enhance the quality of CRGO steel products.
- Training & Development: Organize and conduct training sessions for plant staff on quality standards, testing procedures, and best practices to ensure adherence to quality protocols.
- Customer Interaction: Act as the primary point of contact for customers regarding quality issues, complaints, and product specifications. Provide support for product quality queries and resolve any disputes.
- Report & Analysis: Generate and present regular quality reports, performance metrics, and trends to management, providing actionable insights for decision-making.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in quality control, with at least 3-5 years in a managerial role, ideally in the CRGO or steel industry.
