UAV Technician (Mechanical) - On Contract

Job Description

Desired Skills:

• Experience of working on assembly and integration of aerostructure and airborne systems
• Expertise in drilling, reaming, grinding, tapping, riveting, helicoils insertion & removal, torque application etc.
• Experience in performing sheet metal and metallic fabrication tasks using hand and power tools
• Familiarity with Composite materials and manufacturing processes including layup, structural bonding and structural repairs
• Experience in usage of measuring instruments such as Vernier calipers, Feeler gauges, Micrometers etc.
• Ability to read and understand 2D & 3D drawings and GD&T features in drawings
• Diagnostic skills to identify assembly issues and troubleshooting skills

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for mechanical assembly and integration of the UAV
• Assemble, install, rework and modify aircraft structural, mechanical, hydraulic and electro-mechanical assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, and systems
• Make structural provisions for components installation in the UAV
• Perform a variety of fasteners installation and structural integration operations including Installation of control linkages on UAV
• Perform alterations and repairs including composite structural reworks as per design requirements
• Perform visual inspection of all components and finished subassemblies and maintain good quality of work with minimal errors
• Manage production data generation and captures critical data during manufacturing
• Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures including proper handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipments. Responsible for maintaining 5S adherence in the shopfloor
• If required, should travel to field testing locations for testing support, problem diagnostics and field repair activities
