We are re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director/Director of Development to join our A-team (hybrid*). As an Associate Director/Director of Development to lead our development team in creating innovative, custom applications for clinical trials.This role requires a seasoned professional with a minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development using Java, JavaScript, React, and other modern technologies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of clinical research processes, applications, and integrations, coupled with a proven track record in engineering and delivering complex software solutions.
As the Development Team Leader, you will guide a small to medium-sized team of developers, driving the creation of cutting-edge solutions that support clinical research and operations. Your innovative mindset and deep technical expertise will be critical in ensuring that our products meet the highest engineering standards and align with business requirements.
In this role your key tasks will include:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of developers in the design, development, and deployment of custom applications for clinical trials.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment, encouraging continuous learning and professional development.
- Oversee and contribute to the development of applications using Java, JavaScript, React, and other modern technologies.
- Ensure that all software development is performed to the highest standards, with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product management, clinical operations) to gather and understand product requirements from an engineering perspective.
- Translate business and user requirements into technical specifications, ensuring that the development team delivers solutions that meet or exceed expectations.
- Drive the product development lifecycle from an engineering standpoint, ensuring alignment with technical goals and timelines.
- Leverage your deep understanding of clinical research processes and applications to design and develop solutions that enhance clinical trial efficiency and data integrity.
- Work closely with stakeholders to integrate applications seamlessly with other clinical systems and platforms.
- Bring an innovative mindset to the development process, identifying opportunities to incorporate new technologies and methodologies that drive product excellence.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the development team and the broader organization, ensuring that our technology solutions remain at the forefront of the industry.
- Ensure that all developed applications comply with relevant regulatory standards and best practices within the clinical research industry.
- Implement and maintain robust testing and quality assurance processes to deliver reliable and compliant products.
Requirements
To be successful you should possess:
- Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in full-stack development, with expertise in Java, JavaScript, React, and related technologies.
- At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, managing and mentoring development teams.
- Extensive experience in developing custom applications for clinical trials or within the healthcare industry.
- Proficient in full-stack development, including front-end and back-end technologies.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience with integrations, APIs, and data management in clinical research applications.
- Deep understanding of clinical research processes, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Experience with clinical trial management systems (CTMS), electronic data capture (EDC), and other relevant applications.
- Ability to gather and understand product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Proven track record in delivering complex software solutions that align with business needs and technical goals.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Innovative mindset with a passion for leveraging technology to solve complex problems.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in clinical research.
