Sr Manager – Product Engineering, SBSS

• PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES - List the expected end results that must be achieved in order to fulfil your job purpose and the activities that help in achieving these results.
• Product Engineering Delivering NPD projects as per cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Lead and guide the creation of Engineering Designs derived from Industrial Design with adherence to Engg process, Codes/standards compliance, Design Qualification, Manufacturability, Cost and time adherence.
• Ensures risk management by adherence to KBDP process and diligently drive Gate Technical Signoff to minimise risk on investment/ compliance failure/ align expectations to internal customer
• Guide & lead the Product Engineering teams through the Product development gates of Kohler. Drive the implementation of Product Engineering tools & techniques like DFMEA, DfA/DfM, DfE, etc.
• Conducts/attends Engineering Critiques, Failure Mode and Effect Analyses, etc., and contributes sound professional opinion, creative ideas, concepts, and approaches to new product design and development projects
• Competency evaluation, mapping and work through opportunity areas for engineers. Align Company's objectives on Product/technology delivery to Technical competency of team and engineers.
• Establish, track, and report on Cost, Quality and Delivery matrices of Product Engineering and ensure optimal use of resources
• Apply knowledge of Business and competition to product development goals and product ideas.

• Drives innovation which are Impactful to business. Secure IP strategic for business in India. Technology roadmaps in aligned with NPS objectives.
• Determines the technical feasibility of new product concepts, prepares and reviews detailed project plans including technical objectives and approaches, design specifications, test specifications, schedule plans, project cost estimates, and product cost analysis
• Leads the development of technical innovations for significant business impact

• Reports out project status and issues regularly to regional and global leaders in engineering and business functions as required
• Strong compliance knowledge and proven record of managing a compliance impact

• Occasional contact with outside consultants/analysts regarding technical product design and development beyond in-house capabilities or resource limitations

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive discipline with 10-12 years of relevant experience. Advance degree (M.Tech/M.E preferred).

• Proven track record in Product Engineering and at least 10 years of experience in leading NPD execution teams.
• Must have atleast 5 years for experience working for global markets and global counterparts.
• Understanding of Codes & standards for global markets (ASME, ANSI, GB, EN standards), supplier capabilities, basics of Supply chain/import compliances, etc.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral)

• Proven ability to work on Global Projects across different time-zones
• Proven ability to handle fluctuations in work-load, man-power and resources.
