Your role and responsibilities
We are seeking highly motivated and innovative Bids & Proposal professionals who are eager to join ABB, either now or in the future. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of our talent pool and be considered for upcoming Bids & Proposal roles across various regions and customer sites.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support the assigned Sales organization (division and market) and customers during the proposal process. Each day, you will serve as a key technical resource in the assigned area. You will also showcase your expertise by preparing technical descriptions of the products and technology, determining costs, and preparing final documentation.
The work model for the role is: #LI – Onsite, #LI - Hybrid.
This role contributes significantly to the various business divisions of ABB.
You will be mainly accountable for:- Offering technical advice and solutions on inquiries from customers/channels/Sales Specialists about ABB products/systems/applications.
- Performing analytic and diagnostic studies to determine the optimal technical solution to meet customer needs and address complex inquiries.
- Developing and maintaining new sales opportunities and resolving specific customer problems; and ensuring achievement of targets on orders, Net Price Variance (NPV), and Net Promoter Score (NPS).
- Ensuring the achievement of budget goals, including volume targets and profitable growth, across all assigned product groups and in the respective countries.
- Manages the preparation of RFI (Request for Information), RFQ (Re-quest for quote), all technical (e.g. defining the most suitable tech-nology and product type(s)), financial (e.g. total price sheet, cash flow analysis) and if necessary, project management (e.g. quantifies hours of engineering and commissioning) aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
- Establishes and maintains effective customer relationships to understand customer needs. Ensures a positive customer experience throughout the sales process.
- Prepare bids/estimations for products such as:
- o Substation automation
- o PLCs
- o Analytical products
- o Instrumentation (flow, level, transmitter, pressure)
- o Excitation systems
- o AVR panels
- o HT motors
- o VFDs and drives
- o Large system drives
- o LV switchgear (MCC, PCC, MCB, MCCB, PSS)
- o MV switchgear (AIS/GIS)
- o Building automation systems
- o Residential, distribution, and control products
- 2 to 15 years of experience in preparing bids/estimations in process automation, electrification, motion, and robotics for all industries.
- Highly adept at understanding customer specifications/requirements and applicable IEC or ISA standards.
- Passionate about interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Diploma or engineering degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Electronics & Communication.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication in English.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel globally based on project needs.
