We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Finance Non Financial Risk (NFR) Assistant Vice President - Regulatory Reporting
Principal responsibilities- Managing the control environment and creating awareness across teams and levels with a view to manage exceptions and ensure compliance with Global standards.
- Working alongside IRR control implementations teams and assisting with the execution of Risk and Control Assessments (RCAs), and inputting into the Inherent Risk, Control Effectiveness and Residual Risk Rationales
- Reviewing, recording, tracking and quality assurance around Management self-identified issues to ensure compliance with internal audit criteria.
- Ensuring Helios Data Quality including correcting illogical combinations and ensuring Control Owners continuously maintain HELIOS data.
- Review and input to risk and control reporting, Define / lead training on risk and control topics.
- Support and advice to Risk and Control owners for any 1LOD related queries.
- Interact with the Global Business and Process Owners (eg. Regulatory Reporting) providing advice and insight where into the control environment.
- Navigate effectively across strategic change programmes and actively engage in establishing a strong control environment.
- Clearly communicate regulatory reporting control requirements, risks and issues to key stakeholders and governance forums
- Ensures controls/procedures are designed effectively and operate robustly such that they meet internal and external audit and regulatory expectations.
- Strong written and oral communicate skills, ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple manner to a global audience.
- Basic understanding of generically the banking business, balance sheet and P&L.
- Understanding of control frameworks and how to implement effective controls in practice.
- Strong control mindset to enable implementation of effective controls in practice.
- Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems and queries and to question.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships with stakeholders of different seniority and geographical location.
- Working knowledge of HSBC businesses and products and the regulatory reporting environment.
- Be able to thrive in a dynamic, expanding team to deliver on concurrent deliverables and share knowledge.
- Experience in an Audit, Controls or Regulatory Reporting function within a large financial services organisation.
