Director of Data Engineer (15+Years experience, LLM, RAG, Lang chain)

About the Role:

You'll be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that powers LodgIQ's innovative hospitality solutions. This leadership role is crucial for shaping the company's data strategy, implementing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and empowering data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and Inspire: You'll guide, mentor, and develop a team of data engineers, providing them with technical expertise and career growth opportunities.
• Strategic Vision: Develop and execute a data engineering strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (data science, BI, product) to ensure data initiatives support all aspects of the business.
• Data Architecture & Pipelines: Design, implement, and optimize scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to collect, store, and transform massive datasets from diverse sources. Architect and manage data warehouses, data lakes, and other storage solutions for efficient data retrieval and processing. Ensure the infrastructure is robust, scalable, and meets real-time and batch processing demands.
• Data Governance & Quality: Establish and enforce data governance policies, maintaining data accuracy, integrity, and security across all platforms. Implement monitoring and alerting to proactively address data issues and maintain high data quality. Collaborate with compliance and security teams to ensure adherence to industry regulations and best practices.
• Embrace Innovation: Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering, cloud computing, and big data, specifically those applicable to the hospitality industry. Champion new technologies and methodologies that enhance data processing, storage, and analytics capabilities. Oversee the integration of data from various hospitality systems (PMS, CRM, CRS, IoT devices).
• Effective Communication: Collaborate closely with stakeholders, including executive leadership, to understand data needs and translate them into actionable engineering solutions. Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring everyone is aligned and understands data engineering projects.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10-15 years of experience in Data Engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other common data engineering programming languages.
• Familiarity with Django/Flask, Pandas, AWS Environment (EC2, S3, IAM, Athena), NoSQL databases (MongoDB), and REST APIs with JSON data.
• Ability to perform data mining, data exploration, and possess a strong problem-solving approach with a focus on delivering quality solutions.
• Deep understanding of data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
• Prior experience in the hospitality industry or with hospitality technology platforms is a plus.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
