About the role:
Gartner research and insight helps business leaders make more effective decisions every day. Through programs that clearly demonstrate the Gartner value proposition in both in-person and virtual forums, the Experiential Marketing function supports Sales by increases win rates and thereby driving up Sales productivity.The Vice President of Operations and Technology role within Experiential Marketing is focused on driving scale of these highly successful Marketing programs though data-driven analysis and problem solving, process transformation, and technology enablement.
This Vice President is a highly collaborative professional who has solid experience in managing Sales-facing operations teams, consultative-style automation and streamlining of processes and reporting, leveraging data-driven insights to make key business decisions, effectively representing the business in key technology implementations, and managing vendor relationships.You will be responsible for ensuring Sales satisfaction with Experiential Marketing operations support and reporting, developing and executing a strategy for evolving specialist support within the organization, ensuring successful and reliable virtual events, and improving team and sales productivity through technology advancements.
What you will do:
- Drive continual process transformation and automation for Experiential programs to improve service levels, ensure accuracy and timeliness, increase team efficiency, and minimize time investment by Sales.
- Own the strategy and represent the business for all technology enablement and implementation projects that involve Marketing and/or Sales experience with our programs.
- Partner across the business with leaders in Marketing, Sales, Sales Technology, Information Technology, Analytics and more to help increase the impact of Experiential marketing programs on the business.
- Own Experiential relationships with Finance leaders, Sales Operations leaders, Conference leaders, Procurement and more to ensure tight financial management and ROI of our programs in ever-evolving circumstances of in-person and virtual events.
- Ensure strong bench of vendors for Experiential programs to provide industry-leading virtual events, tightly manage vendor relationships and accountability, and own reliability and quality of vendor execution, including urgent issues like outages.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume, high-growth environment, and inspire our peers and teams to adapt well to change and drive continual improvement.
- Lead high-performing teams that deliver strong impact for Experiential programs and high satisfaction levels for Sales, and also support their career growth within our India COE.
- Lead all Experiential operations and technology pilots and programs, building the strategy, sizing the opportunity, scoping and running the pilots, analyzing successes and scaling.
- Serve as a key member of the Experiential Marketing leadership team and overall Corporate Marketing leadership team, bringing operational rigor, excellence in Sales customer service, and continued innovation to shape the value we deliver.
What you will need:
- 10+ years with masters degree in a B2B environment in a consulting, services and/or business technology industry
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Track record of performance excellence meeting targets and objectives
- Experience managing direct reports, and managing through cross functional teams
- Experience executing multiple highly complex and/or strategic initiatives simultaneously
- Proven track record in improving business results through process and technology transformation. Knowledge of process automation tools.
- Track record of strategic and creative thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and innovative leadership in developing marketing strategies and communications programs that engage a variety of diverse stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative; proven track record of working effectively as part of an experienced management team and selling ideas to partners, and colleagues.
- Proven leadership skill, including the ability to identify talent, build teams, mentor and develop team members, and inspire performance that exceeds expectations and retains resources.
- Strategic, executive presence; yet comfortable to roll up sleeves.
- Person of conviction/integrity; ability to influence others.
- Attention to detail, ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously is required
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and design appropriate solutions
