We are seeking an enthusiastic EHS Officer for our partner, Vilas TransCore Limited, located at the Ganapatpura (tal. Karjan) facility.

Experience Required: 4 to 6 Years

We are in search of a passionate and knowledgeable Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer who possesses expertise in ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and other ISO standards to strengthen our manufacturing team. The EHS Officer will play a crucial role in crafting, executing, and upholding our EHS programs, assuring adherence to environmental regulations, occupational health and safety laws, and fostering the continual enhancement of EHS practices in accordance with industry benchmarks.

• Compliance & ISO Standards:
• Ensure adherence to pertinent EHS legislation alongside ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards.
• Manage the execution and maintenance of the ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 45001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System (OHSMS).
• Coordinate audits, inspections, and evaluations to sustain ISO certifications and unveil opportunities for enhancement.
• Environmental Oversight:
• Supervise the management of environmental performance metrics such as waste disposal, energy utilization, water conservation, and emissions tracking.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and local standards, including ISO 14001 mandates for waste management and pollution mitigation.
• Evaluate and report on the facility&aposs environmental footprint, ensuring it aligns with corporate sustainability targets.
• Health & Safety Oversight:
• Establish, execute, and maintain safety protocols to mitigate workplace injuries and illnesses under ISO 45001 guidelines.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard evaluations; institute corrective and preventative actions while monitoring employee safety.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near-misses with a focus on proper reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective measures.
• Training & Development:
• Create and execute EHS training programs to educate all employees on ISO 14001, ISO 45001, workplace safety, environmental stewardship, and emergency procedures.
• Ensure continuous education regarding compliance, EHS policies, and industry best practices.
• Audits & Record-Keeping:
• Lead internal and external EHS audits while maintaining comprehensive records of audit findings.
• Compile EHS performance reports for management and regulatory agencies, tracking metrics such as accident frequency, compliance audits, and environmental impact.
• Ensure completion of corrective measures based on audit insights, inspections, and incident reports.
• Continuous Improvement & Risk Assessment:
• Encourage the constant improvement of EHS processes in sync with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
• Identify and evaluate EHS risks, proposing risk mitigation and operational enhancement strategies.
• Analyze trends, industry benchmarks, and innovations to elevate EHS management practices.
• Emergency Preparedness:
• Formulate, implement, and periodically revise emergency response plans for diverse EHS incidents (e.g., fire, chemical spills, natural catastrophes).
• Execute emergency drills; ensure employees are trained on procedures including evacuation, containment, and first aid.
• Regulatory Awareness & Documentation:
• Stay current with EHS regulations, standards, and industry developments to ensure compliance.
• Maintain necessary EHS documentation, including policies, risk assessments, audit reports, training logs, and incident records.
• Team Collaboration & Leadership:
• Collaborate with various teams such as production, quality assurance, and HR to achieve EHS objectives.
• Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on EHS regulations and ISO compliance, providing guidance to management and staff.
• Assist the EHS Manager/Director in nurturing a culture of safety within the organization.

• Education: Bachelor&aposs degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience:
• At least [X] years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Comprehensive knowledge of ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety), and other relevant ISO frameworks.
• Hands-on experience conducting internal/external audits, EHS performance reporting, and system implementation.
• Certifications:
• Certification in ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 (preferably as a lead or internal auditor).
• NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
• Skills:
• Solid understanding of EHS laws and ISO guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify concerns and develop effective solutions.
• Proficiency in EHS management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and audit tools.
