Deputy Officer DAP Logistics

Job Description

Function: Fertilizer Operations & Logistics

Job Purpose:

• Oversee smooth outbound logistics for DAP (road and rail) from import ports.
• Manage ancillary facilities for fertilizer-related products and DAP sales.
• Coordinate physical and digital projects within the C&L department.
• Work with internal and external agencies for by-product research.

Key Responsibilities:

• Logistics Planning: Ensure timely evacuation of DAP from ports, arrange necessary resources.
• Operational Coordination: Liaise with ports, railways, transporters, and marketing teams.
• Compliance: Handle railways (FOIS), freight payments, and fertilizer department (IFMS) documentation.
• Project Management: Oversee digital and physical infrastructure projects.
• Budget Management: Track expenses and ensure adherence to allocated budgets.
• Quality & Customer Service: Prevent transit damage, delays, and manage vendor coordination.
• Process Improvement: Implement safety, 5S, and efficiency initiatives.

Required Competencies:

• Technical: Engineering degree, MBA/Diploma in supply chain management, experience in ports, railways, and IT.
• Behavioral: Analytical ability, negotiation skills, multitasking, and leadership competencies.

Key Relationships:

• Internal: Marketing, Operations, Utilities, Environment, Quality, Security, IT.
• External: Transporters, Department of Fertilizer, Railways.

Team Structure:

• Reports to: Manager - Commercial & Logistics
