We are looking for a meticulous Hindi Proofreader with a focus on book writing. This role will require expertise in reviewing long-form content, especially book manuscripts, chapters, and similar materials. The ideal candidate must have a sharp eye for detail, a strong understanding of Hindi grammar, and a deep passion for the written word, especially in book writing.

Responsibilities:

• Proofread Hindi book manuscripts, chapters, and other long-form written content for spelling, grammar, punctuation, and syntax errors.
• Ensure consistency in language, tone, style, and formatting throughout the manuscript or content piece.
• Correct grammatical mistakes and inaccuracies while maintaining the author’s unique voice and tone.
• Review the structure and flow of book chapters, ensuring a logical and coherent narrative.
• Verify factual information, including dates, names, and statistics, to ensure accuracy and credibility.
• Cross-reference content with reliable sources to ensure factual correctness, especially for educational or research-based content.
• Edit book content to enhance clarity, coherence, and readability, keeping the text engaging and accessible to the target audience.
• Ensure that all content adheres to the company's guidelines and is culturally appropriate for Hindi readers.
• Verify the correctness of any multimedia content, such as video scripts or images that accompany the book.
• Provide constructive feedback to writers, offering suggestions for improvement in sentence structure, phrasing, and overall content quality.
• Collaborate with writers, editors, and other team members to ensure high-quality, error-free content that meets deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in Hindi Literature, Journalism, Communications, or a related field is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a proofreader or editor, particularly in Hindi book writing or long-form content.
• Excellent command of Hindi grammar, spelling, and syntax, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to maintain the integrity of the author’s voice while ensuring readability and clarity.
• Strong research and fact-checking skills, especially for educational or narrative content.
• Familiarity with Hindi writing styles (formal, academic, narrative, etc.) and cultural nuances.
• Proficiency in proofreading tools like Microsoft Word’s Track Changes, Grammarly, etc.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a creative team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
