Position Summary:
The Interior Architect for a makeup studio/academy is responsible for designing and creating functional, aesthetically appealing, and inspiring spaces that align with the brand's vision. This role requires expertise in space planning, design concepts, and material selection to create a practical and visually engaging environment that enhances the student and client experience.The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, strong creative skills, and a deep understanding of interior architecture tailored to beauty and educational spaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Planning:
Develop design concepts and layouts for the makeup studio/academy, ensuring they reflect the brand identity and cater to functionality and aesthetics.
Plan efficient use of space, considering lighting, flow, ventilation, and ergonomic requirements specific to makeup and beauty training.
Incorporate design elements that create an inspiring and professional learning environment.- Project Management:
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand project requirements, timelines, and budgets.
Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
Oversee site visits, supervise construction/renovation progress, and ensure adherence to design specifications.- Material Selection:
Source and recommend appropriate materials, furniture, and fixtures that align with the studio's aesthetic and functional needs.
Ensure all materials meet quality standards and are durable for a high-traffic environment.- Lighting & Acoustics:
Design optimal lighting solutions tailored for makeup application, photography, and teaching purposes.
Address acoustic requirements to create a quiet and focused learning environment.- Brand Integration:
Incorporate the brand's identity and philosophy into the design through creative elements, color schemes, and layout.
Ensure the space conveys professionalism while being welcoming to students and clients.- Compliance:
Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, safety regulations, and accessibility standards.
Address sustainability and eco-friendly practices in material selection and design.- Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with the academy's management team to understand operational needs.
Provide design presentations, mood boards, and 3D renderings for stakeholder review.
Coordinate with IT and electrical teams for installations (e.g., mirrors, makeup stations, technology integration).
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
Proven experience in designing commercial spaces, preferably beauty studios, salons, or academies.
Strong portfolio showcasing innovative and functional designs.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D Max, Revit, or similar tools.
Knowledge of materials, finishes, and furniture suitable for beauty and educational environments.
