Job Overview

The Core Coil Assembly (CCA) Technician is responsible for assembling and winding the core and coil components of transformers. This role involves working with electrical and mechanical components to create high-quality transformers that meet design specifications and safety standards.

• Assemble the transformer core by stacking core laminations in precise alignment.
• Ensure the core is properly magnetized and meets required specifications.
• Perform core testing to ensure efficiency and performance standards.
• Wind copper or aluminum wire around the core to create primary and secondary coils.
• Ensure winding is done to the correct tension and number of turns, following technical drawings and specifications.
• Use specialized winding machines to ensure accuracy and quality.
• Apply insulation materials (such as paper, polyester, or epoxy) to the coils to prevent electrical short circuits.
• Inspect insulation for consistency and quality to avoid failures during operation.
• Combine the core and coils into the transformer housing, ensuring proper alignment and fit.
• Install bushings, tap changers, and other necessary components.
• Perform assembly checks and ensure the unit is prepared for testing.
• Conduct electrical tests (e.g., insulation resistance, high voltage, turns ratio, etc.) to verify transformer functionality.
• Document test results and make adjustments to improve product performance when necessary.
• Ensure the product adheres to industry standards and quality controls.
• Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to ensure personal and workplace safety.
• Regularly maintain and calibrate equipment used in the assembly process.
• Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues that arise during the assembly process.
