Position Overview

The Assistant Business Manager - Interior Design and Sales plays a pivotal role in supporting interior design team while actively engaging in sales activities to drive business growth in the home interiors segment. This multifaceted role involves assisting the design manager in overseeing the execution of residential interior design projects while also contributing to sales efforts through lead generation, client consultations, and proposal presentations.

The Assistant Manager will leverage their design expertise, project management skills, and sales acumen to deliver exceptional design solutions and cultivate lasting client relationships.

Duties And Responsibilities

Project Coordination: Assist the design manager in coordinating all aspects of interior design projects, including client meetings, site visits, and project documentation. Ensure seamless communication and collaboration among team members, contractors, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Design Development: Support the design manager in developing innovative design concepts and solutions that meet client objectives and project requirements. Contribute to the creation of mood boards, sketches, and 3D renderings to effectively communicate design ideas to clients.

Sales and Business Development: Actively engage in sales activities to generate new business leads and opportunities. Cultivate relationships with prospective clients, conduct consultations, and present design proposals to secure new projects and contracts.

Material Selection: Assist in sourcing and selecting appropriate materials, finishes, fixtures, and furnishings for residential interior projects. Research new products and trends in the market to enhance design offerings and meet client preferences.

Documentation and Administration: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including drawings, specifications, procurement lists, and project schedules. Ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation to support project execution and client communication.

Client Communication: Communicate with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback throughout the design process. Assist in preparing and delivering presentations to clients, soliciting feedback and incorporating revisions as necessary.

Quality Assurance: Assist in monitoring project progress and quality standards to ensure compliance with design specifications, budgets, and timelines. Conduct regular site visits and inspections to address issues and ensure the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Team Leadership: Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to junior design team members, fostering their professional growth and development. Collaborate with team members to foster a positive and collaborative work environment focused on creativity, innovation, and excellence.

Qualification & Experience

B.Arch/M.Arch/B.Des/Diploma in interiors

Proven experience of 8-10 years in residential interior design and sales, preferably in the home interiors industry.

Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and V Ray

Required Skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines

Proven track record of success in sales and business development, with excellent negotiation and communication skills.

Portfolio showcasing previous design projects and sales achievements.
