Role: Finance Intern
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and diligent Finance and Tax Intern with an MBA in Finance to join our Finance & Tax team. This role will provide the intern with hands-on experience in managing the company's payable activities, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors, financial management, tax compliance and reporting.The intern will be expected to support various finance and tax functions while learning from experienced professionals in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities:
- Invoice Processing: Review and process incoming invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts to verify proper authorization and documentation.
- Vendor Management: Communicate effectively with vendors to resolve issues and discrepancies. Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and respond to inquiries in a timely manner.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and process weekly or monthly payment runs, including checks, ACH transfers, and wire payments. Reconcile payment records and resolve any discrepancies.
- Expense Reimbursement: Process employee expense reports and ensure compliance with company policies. Verify receipts and supporting documentation for expense reimbursement.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts payable transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or variances.
- Reporting: Generate reports on accounts payable activities, such as aging reports and cash flow projections. Provide regular updates to management on payables status.
- Compliance: Stay informed about relevant laws and regulations related to accounts payable. Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Participate in projects to streamline accounts payable processes.
Qualifications:
- MBA in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling tools.
- Familiarity with accounting software and tax filing systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of Indian tax regulations (GST, corporate tax, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
