The Acting on Behalf of Selling Partners (ABS) team under Regulatory Intelligence, Safety and Compliance (RISC) organization is looking for a Sr. Risk Manager to help simplify the compliance process for our Selling Partners. In this role, you will work across WW compliance, business and tech teams to deliver global strategy and multi-year roadmap to improve the Seller Partner Experience.
ABS team's vision is to minimize Selling Partner (SP) friction by validating compliance on our SP's behalf in order to enable earth's broadest selection of compliant products. The inspection program within ABS aims to prevent non-compliant or unsafe products from being sourced while ensuring legitimate sellers are not impacted by leveraging Amazon's ability to source compliance information.

The Sr. Risk Manager designs, builds, and execute inspection strategies to improve the Selling Partner Experience. This role will be responsible of using data to find improvement opportunities across our processes. The successful candidate will 1) develop a data-driven risk inspection framework leveraging analytics and machine learning for risk prioritization and cost optimization, 2) work with Business Intelligence, Science, Product, Engineering and Tech teams to automate processes, enhance tools/capabilities, and improve coverage for acting on sellers behalf, and 3) implement monitoring, reporting, and metrics for program performance and optimization while aligning cross-functional teams.

Key job responsibilities
  • Contribute to cost to serve goals by designing and building analyses that leverage inspection and analytics to identify additional exemption opportunities, reducing operational inflows and costs.
  • Design and implement queries to integrate data from multiple sources, develop data models, and leverage querying techniques to extract insights and patterns related to exemption accuracy and potential risks
  • Analyze existing sourcing techniques, identifying gaps and opportunities, and developing a comprehensive strategy to expand sourcing coverage.
  • Define and implement a comprehensive set of metrics to track the Inspection Program's performance, including measures for over-exemptions, under-exemptions, regrettable enforcements, and customer trust.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate or semi-automate manual business processes and procedures using Amazon's tools and technology, improving tools, features and reducing SP friction, enhancing self-service tools and improving efficiency to enhance Selling Partner Experience.
  • Drive the development and implementation of a comprehensive data-driven inspection framework, leveraging statistical models, data analytics, and risk scoring algorithms to prioritize high-risk exempted products for inspection.
  • Collaborate with technical and science teams to leverage machine learning models for risk-based prioritization and continuous improvement.
  • Leverage the machine learning models to identify cases, where low-risk entities may have been overlooked for exemptions, integrating additional signals, and prioritizing inspections for these cases.
  • Partner with specialized teams to mitigate bad actor risks associated with prequalified products while defining standards for listing and account-level enforcements.
  • Implement robust monitoring and reporting mechanisms to track the performance of the inspection program and the associated models, including developing reports, and feedback loops to capture inspection results.
  • Identifying and implementing metrics to constantly track our progress, including inspection prioritization effectiveness, resource optimization, accuracy, and other relevant metrics.
  • Foster collaboration and build consensus among cross-functional teams such as product, tech, business and policy teams, influencing others to follow the best path forward when confronted with differing perspectives.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements or equivalent
  • Master's degree or equivalent
  • Experience applying statistical methods, data analysis techniques, machine learning concepts, and simulation methodologies in a business or risk management setting.
