Job Overview:

This role requires expertise in database administration, performance tuning, backups, troubleshooting, and security management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Database Administration: Manage, maintain, and support Microsoft SQL Server databases across multiple environments (development, staging, production).
• Database Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize database performance, perform query tuning, indexing, and troubleshooting.
• Backup and Recovery: Configure, monitor, and verify regular database backups and implement effective disaster recovery strategies.
• Security Management: Administer database security, including user roles, permissions, and data encryption to ensure compliance with data protection policies.
• Installation and Upgrades: Install, configure, and upgrade SQL Server instances and patches, ensuring minimal downtime and data loss.
• Database Troubleshooting: Investigate and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, error messages, and data integrity problems.
• SQL Scripting and Automation: Write and optimize T-SQL scripts for database maintenance tasks and automation.
• Replication and High Availability: Manage and troubleshoot SQL Server replication, Always On Availability Groups, database mirroring, and clustering.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor database storage and recommend capacity upgrades to meet future growth requirements.
• Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all DBA tasks, processes, and procedures.
• Collaboration: Work closely with application development teams to design and implement database solutions and enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• 3-6 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SQL Server 2012 or later).
• Strong proficiency in Transact-SQL (T-SQL) and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
• Experience in performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of high availability solutions like SQL Server Always On, clustering, and replication.
• Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS (SQL Server Integration Services, Reporting Services, and Analysis Services).
• Familiarity with database monitoring tools and scripts (e.g., SQL Profiler, Extended Events).
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
