Business Head/COO – E-Commerce & Private Label

Role Overview
The Business Head/COO will be responsible for leading the companys e-commerce and private label business and driving growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong brand background, familiarity with digital and e-commerce, a deep understanding of the Indian ethnic wear market, and a strategic mind-set to balance growth with operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Financial Performance- Develop and execute a roadmap to scale e-commerce revenue while maintaining profitability.
- Define and implement a P&L-driven growth strategy.
- Optimize e-commerce pricing and margin structures to ensure sustainable cash flow and profitability.
- Can build and institutionalize management dashboards & control systems (incorporating the CEO&aposs vision and automating where necessary) and proactively with senior management on a consistent basis
- Streamline the relationship between e-commerce and physical stores to enhance omni-channel operations.
- Identify additional revenue streams (incl. listing on other portals) while maintaining profitability and no-discount strategy
- Implement cross-functional projects across ecommerce & private label in collaboration with offline, finance & tech team.
- Optimize inventory management to prevent overstocking / stock-outs, while maintaining working capital best practices.
- Have a very deep consumer-orientation, devising and implementing profit-improvement and revenue-building initiatives based on deep understanding of the brand&aposs consumers and their behaviours
- Utilize customer data analytics to improve CLV, deepen retention strategies and acquire new customers
- Build a strong second line of management in both divisions while leading-by-example
- Institutionalize periodic reviews (e.g., weekly sales / merchandise reviews) with the on ground team, driving these meetings for clear actionables and with oversight and ultimate accountability
- Operationalize cross-functional and everyday working with strong oversight and leading from the front
- Detail-orientation, speed and frugality in driving results via a small but entrepreneurial team, while actively incorporating mentorship and guidance from the owner-CEO and senior business leaders across other divisions
- Continuously improve organic & digital marketing investments and strategy.
- Work closely with the marketing team to strengthen the company&aposs online presence and customer engagement
- Build and scale a highly regarded brand in the online space, with deep product and consumer-orientation, tweaking online growth and marketing best practices in line with brand&aposs DNA and preserving the brand&aposs core while building for scale and profit

Qualifications
Experience & Background- 8-15 years of experience in e-commerce or retail business, preferably in the Indian ethnic wear sector.
- Proven track record of scaling a D2C or e-commerce brand with a focus on profitability and sustainable growth.
- Experience working in family business or founder-led organizations, with a strong understanding of P&L management.
- Familiarity with omni-channel retail strategies, inventory management, and digital marketing.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in driving revenue growth and optimizing working capital.
- Deep understanding of customer behaviour, especially in the Indian ethnic wear market.
- Ability to balance operational efficiency with strategic growth initiatives.
- Hands-on leader with a problem-solving mind-set and a collaborative approach.
- Comfort with Tamil language and understanding of South Indian culture is preferred.
