Position Summary
The Data Literacy Program Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive data literacy program across the organization. This role involves assessing data literacy needs, creating content, and facilitating learning sessions to ensure employees can effectively understand and use data in their roles.The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data analytics, exceptional communication skills, and experience in educational program development.
Responsibilities
Program Development:
- Design and develop a data literacy curriculum tailored to various roles and departments within the organization.
- Create engaging and accessible content and materials, including online courses, workshops, and tutorials.
- Develop assessments and metrics to measure the effectiveness of the data literacy program.
- Conduct surveys and interviews to assess the current level of data literacy within the organization.
- Identify specific data literacy gaps and training needs for different teams and roles.
- Collaborate with department heads to understand their data usage and requirements.
- Lead training sessions, workshops, and seminars to improve data literacy across the organization.
- Develop and deliver both in-person and virtual training sessions.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees as needed.
- Establish and maintain a schedule for data literacy training sessions and initiatives.
- Track and report on the progress of the data literacy program to senior management.
- Continuously update and improve training materials based on feedback and advancements in data analytics.
- Promote a data-driven culture within the organization by highlighting the importance of data literacy.
- Encourage the adoption of best practices in data analysis and data-driven decision-making.
- Act as a data literacy champion, fostering a community of data-literate employees.
- Work closely with the data and analytics team to ensure alignment between data literacy training and the company's data strategy.
- Partner with HR and Learning & Development teams to integrate data literacy training into existing professional development programs.
- Communicate the benefits and impact of the data literacy program to stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven experience developing and implementing data literacy or community-based learning programs aligned to technical and business strategies.
- Strong understanding of data analytics tools and technologies (e.g., Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Power BI).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to translate complex data concepts into easy-to-understand language.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Experience in professional education and instructional design is a plus.
- Undergraduate degree (or equivalent experience) in related fields such as: Data Science, Education, Statistics or other areas combined with relevant work experience is required
- At least 3+ years of experience in data analytics, with a minimum of 3 years in a learning or community of practice role.
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience to constitute a similar level of expertise, i.e.:
- Bachelor's degree and 1+ year of experience in relevant field OR Master's degree year in relevant field
