Business Segment Overview

Responsibilities:

Position Purpose: As Reconciliations Team Leader you will lead a team responsible for providing BAU Reconciliation processing activities within the Back Office. This includes the timely follow-up and resolution of the reconciliation of the Global Payments bank account statements and multi entity ledgers.

Allocation of breaks to other support teams for investigation, daily and monthly reporting, trend analysis and proposal of match rules to increase STP rates.

You will develop all members of the team to effectively address process issues as and when they arise.

Primary duties will include:

  • Work closely with the local Reconciliations Manager and the Head of Reconciliations, acting as a local point of escalation for the Reconciliation function in Bangalore.
  • Daily workload allocation and oversight of all Reconciliation processes supported by the local team.
  • To adequately manage and execute operations and process controls for all tasks ensuring the team adhere to their daily responsibilities.
  • To ensure the team identify and allocate all Nostro breaks in a prompt and efficient manner; identifying missing bank statements and resolving formatting and inputting issues.
  • To provide support to the Reconciliations control team in order to enable the successful completion of end of day / month end Reconciliations processes.
  • Provide input into the personal training and development plans of team members and to ensure there is sufficient time to execute them – mentoring, educating and directing the team as required.

Completing Reconciliations activities as required.

Qualifications:

To land this role you will need:

  • Overall industry experience of 8+ years with minimum 3 years of experience working in an FX Reconciliations capacity.
  • Proven ability to drive operational initiatives to fruition working with global teams of stakeholders
  • Experience working with SWIFT MT940, MT950, MT900, MT910, MT942’s
  • Experience in match rule analysis and improvement
  • Knowledge of operational risk and mitigation techniques

What makes you stand out:

  • Completion of additional Banking or Finance industry certifications such as BAFT - Certificate in Foreign Exchange (CFX)
  • Experience working with other industry Nostro Reconciliation tools.
  • Experience leaving teams in an Operational environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO20022 - camt.052 .053 .054 messages
  • Experience managing Processes and small Operationally Oriented teams
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work accurately in a pressurized environment within stringent deadlines
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment with competing priorities
  • Lateral thinker able to solve problems and determine action plans

Education / Certification Requirements:

  • Finance or Business degree educated
