Burson is looking to hire a Research Associate for our Public Affairs and Advocacy (PA) team. Our PA team comprises of lawyers, communication specialists, research experts and journalists as well as senior policy advisors who have worked with the Government for many years.For us, Public Affairs means equipping corporations with expertise to engage with the government and other key opinion leaders by ethically influencing in the areas of policy advocacy, regulatory landscape, and stakeholder mapping and engagement, while upholding their image and beliefs.
The Research associate in public Affairs & Advocacy will be responsible for supporting the team on policy and regulations across sectors and subsequently identifying areas for intervention where there are gaps.
Responsibilities- Research on policy, regulatory and business issues.
- Ability to identify touch points on specific policy matters amongst policy makers and influencers.
- Ability to draft representations to the government and briefings on policy issues.
- Work closely with the advocacy and government relations advisors in ensuring timely execution of the campaign/ project.
- 1-3 years of experience in policy and legislative research.
- Knowledge of legislative and policy monitoring and research insights on policy related issues.
- Knowledge of the government hierarchy and basic understanding of how the government functions.
Education: Graduate/ Postgraduate in Law, Economics, Public Policy, Political Science, Business & International Affairs, Communications (with specialization in government/policy communication)
