The PQMO's mission is to ensure that quality processes, including tools and methods, are executed in product and process projects according to established procedures, thereby ensuring the achievement of project objectives and customer satisfaction.The PQMO oversees the initiation of quality activities at the appropriate project stage and ensures their continuation until a successful launch, intervening with corrective actions as needed.
The role of the Project Quality Manager aligns with the industry standard of Quality Assurance, which entails the planned and systematic application of quality activities to ensure that the project implements all necessary processes to meet agreed-upon requirements.
Responsibilities And Duties
Associate Project Quality Manager Operations (PQMO) is member of the project management team within UD Trucks Operations. The responsibilities are described in this role description and the ways these responsibilities are applied vary from project to project.
Project Quality:
- Create, communicate, update, and monitor the Project Assurance Plan (assist the Operations Project Manager).
- Establish and oversee the Operations project risk register, manage it effectively by coordinating within operations to implement appropriate risk responses.
- Identify hard points/stoppers and escalate them to the Operations Project Manager, Chief Project Manager, and relevant line organization.
- Ensure adherence to appropriate project management processes.
- Define Operations project quality objectives, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and Performance Indicators (PIs) in coordination with the Project Management Team (PMT).
- Set up a project-specific PRIME strategy (Project Realization with Issue Management Excellence) and compile the PRIME summary to support gate decisions.
- Support Operations project manager in maintaining a strong focus on quality.
- Conduct risk assessments and devise mitigation strategies within the Operations Level 2 Risk register.
- Report on project quality status at each project gate and aid PM Operations by providing necessary quality reports during gate audits.
- Compile lessons learned during each project phase within operations and contribute to the white book session conducted at the project level.
- Establish Project specific product Audit Targets(C, P-Builds and SOP)
- Conduct PQMO audits to assess industrial readiness and verify the implementation of control plans established from PFMEA.
- Support KD plant during Serial production start by conducting process audits.
Product & Process Quality:
- Develop and oversee the quality assurance plan and quality tool plan (which tools are to be utilized at each project gate), including the manufacturing validation plan encompassing PFMEA, Cp/Cpk, Pp/Ppk, PHR (when NP are agreed), and DFA.
- Identify critical issues and escalate them to the Operations PM/CPM and relevant departments.
- Actively support the project team by providing training in quality tools and methodologies.
- Serve as the Operations representative in Issue (PIL) management forums.
- Assist in establishing targets for project/product (process) audits and PRIME.
- Generate forecasts and provide regular reports on product and process quality status at each gate and during Project Management Team meetings within Operations.
- Initiate and oversee enhanced control plan activities such as Shokiryudo, Quality assurance plan(QAP), service level indicators(SLI) and Initial Quality control (IQC).
- Monitor product (process) quality KPIs agreed upon within the Operations management team.
- Interface with Operations PM, PMQ and within operations Technical preparation Engineer; collaborate with the Quality Organization within the plants.
- Fulfillment of project quality KPI's for Project Quality Manager Operations such as;
- Project assurance plan(PAP) and Project Delivery Plan (part) fulfillment
- PIL(Issue Management)
- Project/Product audit.
- PQMO and PRIME Audits
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experiences in Quality Assurance/control function
- Six Sigma Green/Black Belt, ASQ or equivalent(Preferred).
- 6-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance, preferred from Automotive Industry or more from similar job assignments handling product projects.
- Ability to lead activities & projects in a multi-cultural environment

- Communication skills and you like to share your knowledge with others
- Experience of Quality tools and GDP& IS-GDP knowledge
- Experience in working with Technologies is appreciated
