Job Description- Oversee all legal matters, including litigation and corporate legal issues.
- Manage legal proceedings and ensure the company is represented well in court
- To lead Motor Third Party Claims Portfolio - Compensation cases arising out of motor policies
- To analyze the trends and steer the team for optimum performance
- To monitor Lawyers performance and ensure they adhere to Company's ethics and performance standards
- Keep the team updated with latest legal position and interpretations of the relevant provisions / laws
- Strategize defence line and guide on appropriate evidences being led to protect the interests of the Company
- To prepare and submit various regulatory reports and comply with adhoc reports or data requirements from various authorities, auditors from time to time.
The Successful Applicant
A successful 'VP - Litigation' should have:
- A degree in law from a recognized institution.
- 10 - 15 years of experience
- Profound knowledge of the Insurance sector, particularly General Insurance.
- Strong ability to interpret laws and regulations.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience in managing a team of legal professionals.
- Strategic thinking with a problem-solving mindset.
