ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM
As Legal Counsel in SITA’s Legal Resource Hub (LRH), you will provide essential support to all Central, Business Unit (BU) and Geographical Region (GEO) legal teams in contributing to key legal projects and activities. This dynamic role will give you the opportunity to assist in a wide range of legal matters.This position will report to the LRH Lead and get invaluable exposure to a variety of legal disciplines while working closely with other legal counsel and business teams. The LRH is being set up this year, and the successful candidate for this role will therefore help pioneer its operations and ways of working
WHAT YOU’LL DO
You will be involved in a variety of projects, which could include:Central:
- Reviewing supplier agreements for telecoms, IT & software services, field services, and hardware.
- Providing legal support on M&A transactions, joint ventures, strategic initiatives, litigation, IP regulatory, and ethics as needed.
- Monitoring sanctions screening results, reviewing and escalating if red flags/sanctions are flagged (appropriate training will be provided).
- Occasionally taking contemporaneous notes of investigation interviews.
- Assisting with regulatory regime reviews in specific areas.
- Supporting policy rewrites and process simplification.
- Updating templates as needed.
- Assisting with 'transactional' deals.
- Assisting in the analysis, review, and negotiation of contracts, bid documents, and term sheets from legal, business, and functional perspectives.
- Supporting the drafting, negotiation, finalization, and completion of transaction documentation.
- Reviewing new laws in major jurisdictions and summarizing their impact on SITA.
- Supporting the creation and maintenance of region-specific knowledge management material, ensuring up-to-date and relevant legal information is available.
- Assisting in legal research, creation of whitepapers and memos, abstraction of legal and contract clauses, and interpretation.
- Preparing risk mitigation plans for any identified risks in proposals or contracts.
- Ensuring compliance with internal guidelines and assisting in obtaining necessary approvals throughout the contracting process.
- Advising on assumptions, deviations, risks in proposals, legal disclaimers and business letters, ensuring all legal and commercial aspects are appropriately addressed.
Qualifications:
ABOUT YOUR SKILLS- Degree in Law with appropriate legal qualifications (registered or licensed attorney, solicitor, barrister, or equivalent).
- Up to 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in commercial law, contract management, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts and the ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to present and explain legal concepts clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team, and comfortable interacting with senior legal counsels, business leaders, and external partners.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow within a global, fast-paced legal environment.
