Data Warehouse Database Administrator (DBA)

This role requires expertise in database administration, data modelling, performance tuning, and proactive monitoring. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Design, deploy, and maintain data warehouse databases, including data modelling, schema design, and capacity planning.
• Perform ongoing monitoring, tuning, and optimization of database performance to ensure efficient query execution and data processing.
• Implement and maintain database security measures, including access controls, and data masking, to protect sensitive information.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, such as performance bottlenecks, data corruption, and connectivity problems, in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with data engineers, ETL developers, and business analysts to ensure seamless integration of data into the data warehouse.
• Evaluate and recommend database technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the capabilities and scalability of the data warehouse platform.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior DBAs and members of the data team.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in data warehouse management and database administration.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 5 years of experience as a database administrator, with a focus on data warehouse environments.
• Proficiency in database management systems, MSSQL Server knowledge mandatory.
• Knowledge in additional technologies such as PostgreSQL – Advantage.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse concepts, architecture, and design principles.
• Experience with data modelling tools and techniques, such as ERwin or PowerDesigner.
• Experience with query optimization, performance tuning. Deep understanding of the Server Optimizer, Statistics, indexing (columnstore) and partitioning.
• Experience on AWS Cloud – Advantage.
