Job Description
As a facility supervisor, you may oversee equipment maintenance and repair, inspect the grounds and assist other employees. Your main role is to ensure a safe and effective work environment. This may require enforcing new policies, ensuring the proper use of equipment and reporting accidents. Depending on your level of responsibility, you may also need to confirm that all personnel are present and find solutions when someone is missing. Other job duties may include:
- Check the premises regularly to ensure security
- Record and report emergencies
- Supervise the janitorial staff and other workers
- Hire contractors for equipment installation and repairs
- Evaluate existing systems
- Identify technical problems
- Monitor planned preventive maintenance
- Oversee waste management, garbage collection, product delivery and other operations
- Carry out inspections of the facility
- Perform administrative or custodial tasks as needed
- Document lost and found items
- Perform random checks
- Participate in emergency planning
