Team Lead - Taxation
What You'll Do:
As a Team Lead, you'll handle lodging tax forms and file returns for US states/counties/cities. You'll support the compliance team to ensure and accurate filings, collaborate with tax personnel, and improve team processes. Customer support and accurate, tax return preparation are important responsibilities.You will report to the Manager of Tax & Compliance.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- You will manage Lodging filing/preparation tasks for team sizes of 10 or more
- You will manage tax processing in the team (50% of the time)
- You should manage compliance credibility checking tasks for the team to meet regulatory requirements.
- You should own accomplishment of high employee satisfaction and retention; lead development of programs within the group to attain high employee satisfaction.
- You will hire and mentor team members for growth.
- You need to Identify needs and collaborate with SMEs and L&D.
- You will manage performance discussions.
- You ensure accurate tax submissions, meeting Avalara's targets.
- You will have to work with all partners, avoiding escalations. Handle Exec and Client escalations and propose CAPA.
- Ensure profitability from extra client issue hours.
- Work with onsite teams and partners.
- Identify and pursue automation opportunities.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- 8+ years of experience with 3 years managing a team.
- Graduate degree/MBA in Finance.
- You have worked on data analytics to reconcile data
- You have worked on Word and Excel (can perform complex functions) and have also worked on a cloud platform.
- You have a good hold of math and accounting concepts.
- Excellent English (oral and written).
