Senior Product Manager, Business Licenses
What You'll Do:
Avalara is seeking a Product Manager to support the development and growth of the Business Licenses product. You will work closely
with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) based in the United States, under their supervision and direction, to deliver solutions that address customer needs and align with Avalara’s strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong product management background, and the ability to collaborate effectively across geographies and time zones.
This is a #LI-Hybrid role based out of Pune location. You will be reporting to leadership from Product management vertical.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Product Support & Strategy Execution- You will collaborate with US-based SMEs to understand the product vision, strategy, and priorities for the Business Licenses product.
- Translate strategic directives into actionable product requirements, user stories, and development plans.
- You will assist in gathering and analyzing customer feedback, market trends, and competitive insights to refine product features.
- Advocate for user needs, ensuring product solutions deliver value and an user experience.
- Work with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams to ensure smooth execution of development sprints.
- Allow communication between India-based teams and US-based SMEs, ensuring agreement.
Execution & Delivery
Performance Tracking & Reporting- Define and track product performance metrics in collaboration with SMEs and leadership.
- Provide regular updates to US-based SMEs on project status, progress, and challenges.
Domain Expertise:
- Deep understanding of US business licensing regulations, including federal, state, and local compliance requirements.
- Familiarity with licensing workflows, including application, renewal, and reporting processes across various industries.
- Knowledge of market trends and challenges in compliance for SMBs and enterprises in the US.
What You'll Need to be Successful:
- 5+ years of experience in product management, preferably in a SaaS or B2B environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams across geographies.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira or Confluence.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; an MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
